Muay Thai
The national sport of Thailand, also known as “Thai Boxing” is a striking art that utilizes punching, kicking, kneeing, and elbowing. Join our experienced trainers and learn the art of authentic Muay Thai through traditional teachings with modern techniques and instruction.
Group Classes
Our Muay Thai group classes run Monday to Friday in two sessions, from 8:00 am – 9:30 am and 4pm to 5:30pm. We also hold a weekend class on Saturdays from 9:00 am to 10:30 am. Taught by our team of experienced Thai trainers (many of them ex-champions) and current Road to UFC fighter Top Noi, sessions include a focus on stance, footwork, punches, kicks, knees, elbows and the defenses to these techniques. Our group training is open to all ages and levels, from complete beginners to fighters and is adapted to suit different levels and abilities.
Elite Training
If you are a professional fighter, our team at Bangtao can help you with preparations for your next fight. With a focus on correct form and technique, ring skills and fitness, we’ll make sure that the hard work is done and you’re ready to get that next W. Advanced pad work, bag work, sparring and conditioning are all part and parcel of Muay Thai sessions at the gym, pushing you to be an elite fighter in this competitive sport.
Training program
A typical Muay Thai class at Bangtao starts with a warmup of running, skipping and shadow boxing. Our trainers will then take you through technique where you will partner up to practice as well as doing bag and pad work with our trainers in the ring. Focusing on utilizing correct technique and not on hurting your training partner, you will also have the chance to do sparring at your own pace. The main session is followed by some core work and warm down/stretching.
MMA
Run by world renowned Head Coach George Hickman, our MMA classes focus on technique and sparring combining striking, grappling, wrestling, and submission techniques. Whether you have no experience or are a high level professional, the Bangtao MMA program is a great opportunity to train at one of the best camps in the world
The MMA program at Bangtao has fast become one of the most respected across the globe with fighters such as UFC Champions Weili Zhang and Jiří Procházka and PFL champ Brendan Loughnane all training here in preparation for their fights. Come hone your abilities alongside top-tier MMA professionals while being supervised by leading MMA head coach George Hickman.
Training program
MMA classes run 3 times a week from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm with Mondays and Fridays focused on sparring and Wednesdays on technique. You will learn to combine the use of striking, grappling, wrestling, and submission techniques through detailed instruction, continuous drilling with a partner and bringing it all together in controlled sparring.
Fitness Class
Bangtao Fit classes are the perfect start to your day. High Intensity Interval Training to jack up your endorphins and improve your conditioning first thing in the morning. The classes have a range of benefits including weight loss, building muscle and leveling up your fight ready conditioning if you’re an athlete.
Bangtao Fit Mornings
These early morning sessions are designed using training techniques to improve your strength, speed, power, endurance, and energy system conditioning. Whether you want to condition your body in preparation for the physical demands of combat sports or looking to torch fat and improve your overall health, this challenging class will push your performance to another level.
High Intensity
The classes are structured to make sure you are primed to meet the physical demands of high intensity training. Starting with a dynamic warmup and mobility- based movements, the sessions then progress to the main workout which vary from more strength focused to conditioning, all capping off with a dynamic cool down and stretch. All exercises can be scaled to your fitness level and ability so no matter your experience, you will improve and more importantly, enjoy the class.
Programmed for Performace
Bangtao’s strength and conditioning classes are designed with pro athletes in mind. It is world class performance enhancement program designed by UFC TUF coach Andrew “Woody” Wood for competitive fighters and athletes looking to take their fight preparations and conditioning to the next level.
BJJ Training Class
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program, including Gi and Nogi classes are run by Black Belt Alex Schild. No matter your age or ability, our classes are friendly and unintimidating, and will give you the tools to learn and improve your ground game positions, techniques, and skills.
Gi
Our Gi classes are run Monday and Wednesday evenings with Friday left open for you to grab a friend and drill what you have learnt in the week. BJJ focuses on using proper technique, leverage, and ground game. In these classes, students are required to wear the traditional BJJ uniform called a “Gi”. Techniques in this class are taught in the traditional methods of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and you can progress in belts from white to black. We pride ourselves on having a friendly training environment where we all help each other out to learn this beautiful sport. Gi’s are available for rental and purchase in our store.
No-Gi
Learn to master techniques like fundamental takedowns, position controls, position escapes, and submissions in our Nogi classes Monday to Friday at 10am and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:15 pm. Students will have the opportunity to learn modern jiu jitsu adapted to to Nogi situations and master a fast and dynamic style of fighting.
Fundamentals
Drill make skills, and skills pay bills. A solid base and a good understanding of the fundamentals makes BJJ more fun and you should see a good progression when incorporating our fundamentals class into your schedule, every evening at 6:15pm. Perfect for beginners looking to start their journey into BJJ.
Kettlebells at Bangtao
The Kettlebell program focuses on 3 main areas of performance: strength, power and conditioning. Setup in 2-week intervals, the programming from coach Peter is suitable for all ages and fitness levels. Starting with a dynamic warm-up, you will be instructed on the proper mechanics and movements that are later combined to form a fun yet challenging sequence.
Bangtao S&C
Our S&C classes train your entire body and are ideal for weight loss and helping to improve power, endurance, speed, agility, core stability and all-round performance. Far from just lifting weights, our coaches will apply their extensive experience and knowledge to help you build muscle more effectively and reduce any risk of injury – ensuring that you can train consistently to reach your goals.
Programming
Our strength and conditioning classes are programmed weekly to focus on different muscle groups: Monday (Legs), Tuesday (Chest), Wednesday (Power), Thursday (Deadlifts) and Friday (Shoulders). Utilizing our world class facilities and equipment from at Bangtao, each class is designed to improve your strength and power which can be translated across to your fight game.
Yoga at Bangtao
During our yoga class, you can expect to focus on the fundamentals of yoga practice, including breath work, alignment, and meditation. You will be guided through a series of postures that will help you build strength, stability, flexibility, mobility, and balance. And because our classes are designed for all levels, you’ll have the opportunity to modify each posture to fit your individual needs and abilities.
Wrestling program at Bangtao
Frank Hickman, wrestling coach to UFC champions, including Israel Adesanya and Alexander Volkanovski will put you through your paces on the mat every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. With his knowledge and experience, you will learn the fundamentals and advanced wrestling techniques for MMA that have helped numerous world champions across different organisations get to the top of their game.
Bangtao’s wrestling program has a heavy emphasis on technique and form, geared towards wrestling for MMA. It is no secret that wrestling has become one of the most significant and important skills to learn if you want to become a high level mixed martial artist. If you want a substantial competitive advantage in the cage and the ability to control the range at which the fight takes place, be it standing, clinching or on the ground, then this is the class for you.
